The president said this at the formal inauguration of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) and the National Pension Commission (NPC) just before the Federal Executive Council meeting.
He said the appointments had been made with due consideration for the imperative to strengthen the agencies as part of the administration’s unwavering resolve to reposition critical structures and institutions of governance for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
He said the need for oneness and the promotion of national unity gave birth to the federal character principle and the federal character commission and called on the members of the federal character commission to discharge their constitutional mandate with profound courage and dedication.
Turning to the Pension Commission, the president decried what he called the negative reports associated with the administrations of pension under the Old Fine Benefit Scheme in the public sector.
