Plateau Attack: 33 Victims Given Mass Burial Amidst Tears

A mass burial has been held for the 33 victims of the attack in Shonong village in Bachit District of Riyom local government area of Plateau state. The state government condemned the attack, describing it as barbaric and is asking the Nigerian Police to fish out the perpetrators.

Shortly after the mass burial, the community leader, Mr. Iliya Vomagai, said the attackers, armed with sophisticated weapons arrived the community on Monday at about 9am when most of the able-bodied men had gone to farm.
The state police command on the flip side said it has spread its dragnet as far as Kaduna state, in a bid to apprehend the culprits.
While the identities of those burnt beyond recognition are yet to be ascertained, family members of the victims are still in shock over the incident
